Alice started life in 1990 as a Primary teacher. Headed to Brighton and moved into Nurseries and reception class. On return to Scotland, she continued to teach in the Early Years until taking up a lecturing post.
From being a senior lecturer in Early Years at Glasgow College, the Scottish Independent Nursery Association (SINA) invited Alice to set up a training branch which within 4 years Alice had bought. This SQA accredited centre is now in its 20th year.
Award-winning educator
Alice is the author of five books, a range of Educational DVDs and the Multi Award winning online training Adventures with Alice (AWA). She has also designed over twenty products with TTS.
Alice was awarded Lecturer of the Year and Most Inspirational in Early years award over the past few years and has recently been awarded a Scottish Edge Award and Business Development Award.
Alice has delivered hundreds of keynotes, workshops and seminars collaborating with incredible people and groups, the Education and Library Boards in Northern Ireland, Basic Skills Agency for the Welsh Government Assembly, Scottish Book Trust, London Early Years Foundation, Queens University and University of Wales.
Alice continues to develop and deliver for Glasgow University (BA in Childhood Practice), as well as those focussed on dads (Approved by Dads) and mums (First Steps), parents and babies (Tickle Giggle) and narrowing the gap in children’s language development.
Finally, Alice is often invited to travel and share her thinking and ideas, her last four being Japan, Cyprus, Canada, and Nashville. Her Adventures with Alice programme is in thousands of settings across the world, and she continues to innovate and inspire through webinars and podcasts.
