Erika Christakis is an early childhood educator and New York Times bestselling author of
The Importance of Being Little: What Young Children Really Need From Grownups.

A former preschool director and faculty member of the Yale Child Study Center, Erika’s current focus is the early detection of reading difficulties and how that intersects with poverty, trauma and fissures in relationships and families.

In addition to being a dyslexia practitioner, Erika advocates for best early years learning
practices and closing the gap between what scientists know about literacy and what parents and teachers know.
