Professor David Daley will be exploring the impact of the pandemic on school readiness.
A developmental psychologist by training, David Daley is a Professor of Psychological
Intervention and Behaviour Change. His primary area of research lies in the psychological development of pre-school children, with a particular focus on how to enhance school readiness in those with neurodiversity.
David’s 2019 research is focused on non-shared environmental influences on child development and he is an internationally recognised expert in pre-school development.
As a panellist on our Little Lockdowners webinar, David talks about how the Covid-19 pandemic has had a major impact on school readiness in terms of cognitive impairment and lack of curiosity as a result of lockdown, parental occupational stress and other environmental factors. He also joins in with other panellists in brainstorming strategies and interventions for educators to help them bridge developmental delays in these children both before and after they arrive at school.
